Terms of Service
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the mp3towav.online website, the free browser-based MP3 to WAV converter, and the Sonic Converter API (collectively, the "Service"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Service Description
mp3towav.online provides a free, browser-based MP3 to WAV audio converter powered by WebAssembly. Audio files are processed entirely in your browser — no files are uploaded to any server. We also offer the Sonic Converter API, a paid REST API for server-side MP3 to WAV conversion.
2. Free Converter
The browser-based converter is free to use with no account required. There are no usage caps or daily limits. You may use it for both personal and commercial purposes. All audio files are processed locally in your browser using WebAssembly and are never transmitted to our servers.
3. Sonic Converter API
The Sonic Converter API is a paid service with tiered plans. Access requires a valid API key, which is issued upon subscription. API keys are personal and must not be shared or published. Each plan includes defined rate limits — exceeding those limits may result in throttled or rejected requests.
Billing is handled through Gumroad. You may cancel your subscription at any time. Upon cancellation, your API access remains active until the end of the current billing period.
4. Acceptable Use
When using the Service, you agree not to:
- Convert files you do not have the legal right to process
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the WebAssembly audio engine
- Abuse API rate limits or attempt to circumvent usage restrictions
- Redistribute, resell, or sublicense any part of the Service
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
5. Intellectual Property
You retain all rights to the audio files you convert using the Service. mp3towav.online does not claim any ownership over your content.
The mp3towav.online website, Sonic Converter audio engine, API, and all associated code, design, and branding are the intellectual property of mp3towav.online. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the Service without prior written permission.
6. No Warranty
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. The quality of converted audio depends on the source MP3 file — converting a low-bitrate MP3 to WAV will not improve its audio fidelity.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, mp3towav.online shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service. This includes, but is not limited to, loss of data, loss of revenue, or interruption of business.
8. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
